The Ilocos Sur Festival has truly lived up to its title as “The Grandest of Celebrations,” growing bigger, brighter, and more exciting every year. Celebrated in the heritage province of Ilocos Sur, the festival showcases the vibrant culture, traditions, music, talent, and unity of the Ilocano people through a series of grand events and performances.
Since 2023, the festival has continuously evolved into one of the most anticipated celebrations in Northern Luzon. Under the leadership of Governor Jerry Singson and with the collaborative efforts of organizers, production teams, and tourism offices, the event has delivered world-class entertainment while preserving the province’s rich heritage and identity.
The 2023 Kannawidan Festival featured spectacular highlights such as the Grand Festival Opening and the Governor’s Night & One Ilocos Sur Party. In 2024, the celebration was officially rebranded as the Ilocos Sur Festival, emphasizing the province’s strong cultural identity and bringing even more exciting programs including the Illumina Music Fest, LGBT Festival Queen Pageant, Balikbayan Night, and the energetic Diva Duel Lip Sync Battle.
By 2025, the festival became even grander with its new tagline, “The Grandest of Celebrations.” Spanning from January 28 to February 14, the festival featured colorful street dance competitions, beauty pageants, music-filled evenings, cultural showcases, and the highly anticipated Grand Finale. Special guests and performers added excitement to the festivities, but the true heart of the celebration remained the Ilocano people themselves.
One of the most meaningful highlights of the festival was the recognition of the Valuable IlocosSurian People (VIP), a tribute that honored the locals who continue to preserve and celebrate Ilocano culture and traditions across generations. Their passion and participation are what keep the spirit of the festival alive year after year.
Beyond the entertainment and festivities, the Ilocos Sur Festival reflects the dedication, hard work, and vision of the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur and the countless individuals behind the scenes who make every celebration unforgettable. As the festival continues to grow, it remains a symbol of Ilocano pride, heritage, unity, and joy — leaving everyone excited for an even grander celebration in 2026.
